Advanced Google Search Operators
We all know Google is great, but it’s much greater if you know how to use its advanced search operators to explore the WWW. I make a summary of useful and popular search operators here for reference. Most of them serve the SEO purpose very well. You know, I’m not gonna try to remember everything but just remember where to find it when I need (to save space in my “hard disk”), so I’ll post every necessary things on my site. If you are a pro Googler, just skip it.
Cache:
This will show your page’s snapshot in Google’s cache. You can also find the date and time when your site was crawled and how different it is from your site in the mean time. This should be useful for checking if your newly added content has been indexed. It’s also work as a way back machine to find some websites that no longer exist.
Note: there can be NO space between the “cache:” and the URL
Usage: cache:hieutrung.com
Link:
Check who’s linking back to you. This will list all web pages that link back to a specific page.
Usage: link:videosofts.com
Related:
Find similar websites to a specific site.
Usage: related:google.com (you will see Yahoo, MSN, Altavista and lots of other Search Engine)
Define:

Usage: allintitle: hieu trung (return all pages of which title contents both “hieu” and “trung”)
Intitle:
Return the pages of which title contents a given words, and the body contents the others.
Note: there can be NO space between “intitle:” and the word.
Usage: trinh inurl:hieu trung (return the page with “hieu” in the title and “trinh”, “trung” in the body as usual)
Allinurl:
This is similar to Allintitle, but the given words must appear in the URL.
Usage: allinurl: hieu trung (you will have hieutrung.com or www.example.com/trinh-hieu-trung)
Inurl:
This is similar to intitle, but the given word must appear in the URL, and the body content others.

Nice post guy. We even can do better with “crazy matches” from those operators.
EX: Hieu -Trung +Trinh site:hieutrung.com
)
BTW, the Link:domain operator does not show all linkbacks. But Google Webmaster Tools will help.

Yeah I do think the “link” operator does not show exactly the results and “site linking in” of Alexa neither. I’ll give more try on Google Webmaster tools. Tks guy.

I really like the idea and the directions you gave. I’m pretty untechie, but I am going to try to follow these directions.
